Sometimes, yes. Especially with men who haven’t dated Black women before. It’s like they’re either too curious, or they tiptoe around things. I don’t want to feel like an experiment or a taboo. I want someone who gets me — and that includes my culture and history, not just my skin.

Rachel:

I hear you. That’s the part where real conversation matters. Like, are we actually seeing each other as whole people, or are we just attracted to something “different”? Interracial dating can be amazing, but it takes emotional maturity on both sides.
